WEDDING MUSIC

Congratulations on your Engagement! We know that planning a wedding can be a very stressful time. We are here to help with at least one aspect (if not the most important…but perhaps we’re biased..). The Leos Quartet has extensive experience playing at weddings and will happily share our advice on what we feel works to help make your day completely perfect.

Remember to look at our links page to see some of our recommended wedding suppliers!

If you already have your big day planned, then that’s fine – tell us where and when you want us, and we’ll do what we’re told!

If on the other hand, you need a bit of help, here is an outline of something we could do for you.

Prelude: We can provide half an hour of music at the wedding venue whilst guests arrive. This music can be as religious or secular as you wish but we tend to stick to our classical music (see our repertoire list)

Entrance of the bride: This is normally decided by the bride, but if you’re having difficulty we know some very popular pieces (Pachelbel’s Canon,Wedding March etc). If ‘your’ song isn’t in our repertoire list already, contact us and we can try and arrange something (for a small fee).

Signing of the register: Again some more calm, classical music. We will judge how long to play for.

Exit of the happy couple: This can be the same piece of music that the bride entered to, or again something completely different of your choice.

Exit of congregation: This selection of music will be similar to the Prelude. We will continue playing until the venue is cleared.

Photographs: We will happily carry on playing whilst photographs are being taken (shelter will need to be provided if we have to move outside). For this, we can either stick with our classical repertoire or swap over to the lighter, more jazzy selection (see our repertoire list).

Drinks reception: For this we normally do a nice mixed selection of classical and jazzy numbers. Remember to tell us your favourite (and least favourite!) songs and we’ll try our best to include them or miss them out.

Meal: This is a continuation of the drinks reception, with a good mix of all our music. We’re very experienced at judging our surroundings. We will choose our music to fit the mood and equally try to match our volume to yours so no-one has to shout or whisper!

Don’t worry if your drinks reception and meal are at a different venue to where you are getting married. As long as we know in advance, we can arrange to move our equipment to the new location. This will of course take a bit more time.

This is a basic template of what we can provide. This can be tailored to fit the plans of your day. Get in touch with Rachel to talk through your ideas if you’re still not sure what to do.
